Welcome...
to
the first Statewide Conference on
Amphibians of Alaska.
Dates: March 30th, 31st
and April 1st, 2004
Location: Juneau, Centennial Hall
(3/30-31) and the Federal Building (4/1)
Main
Conference Goal: Develop a statewide conservation strategy for all of Alaska's amphibian
species.
Secondary
Goal: Information exchange
and networking through presentations, featured speakers, discussion panels,
informal dialogue, and posters for professionals working with, and managing, Alaska’s wild
amphibians
This
conference will be an excellent opportunity for agency personnel, students,
scientists, and naturalists to share information on Alaska's unique
herpefauna. The two-day workshop will provide ample time to present findings,
discuss plans, meet new colleagues with similar interests, and ultimately,
help to shed light on the little-known amphibian herpetofauna of Alaska.
Topics
Include: Amphibian physiology, genetics, population dynamics,
biogeography, malformations & contaminants, habitat protection &
species at risk, and information gaps, among others.
Please
check back often, we are still building the site and information is added
regularly.
