Air
Travel
For those travelling to Juneau from Alaska, look into Alaska Airlines constituent
fares -- they are usually pretty inexpensive. The other "good deal"
if you are coming from Anchorage is to take the flights listed below -- they
have a flight specific fare -- come down in the evening and leave in the
morning; Also, the fare should be less than $150 if you wanted to come down
and stay over a Saturday night.

Other hotels within easy walking distance
include the Westmark Baranof; Driftwood Lodge and Alaskan Hotel. There are
several Bed and Breakfasts downtown as well. The Alaskan Hotel is probably
the least expensive hotel and most rustic. Most places also have web sites
and may have web specials that are below government rates.
Additionally, some good web sites for
general Juneau travel and activity information are: www.traveljuneau.com, and www.juneau.com, and for maps of Juneau and the surrounding area see, www.juneau.org/community/maps/index.php
Ground
Travel
Check with your hotel if they
have an airport shuttle available. Some hotels may not be running this
service until the summer. The other options for travel around Juneau are taxi, though they tend to be quite expensive,
and rental cars. There is also a fine bus system in Juneau to get you through the city. See the Capital Transit page for more
information.
