What’s New at the Stikine Research Institute Website

 

 

06 October 2007:  Added links to vascular plant inventory for Glacier Bay National Park, Audubon/TNC conservation assessment for Southeast Alaska, Juneau Audubon Society, and the Tongass Futures Roundtable.  Removed links to the defunct Juneau Mineral Information Center and the no longer active Ecotrust program for Southeast Alaska.  Fixed broken links, including updating the link to Chris Larsen’s page on uplift in Southeast Alaska.

 

01 May 2007: Added links to newly published Mammals and Amphibians of Southeast Alaska and the State of Alaska Conservation Action Plan for Native Amphibians. 

 

21 December 2006: Added link to Marc Kramer’s paper on windthrow and forest development on Kuiu Island.

 

13 December 2006: Fixed broken links.  Had to remove the link to Lily Peacock’s homepage as she currently has none, but we hope it will be back.  Also had to remove links to UAS glacier research pages as those pages no longer exist (boo!).  Added links to Lily Peacock’s dissertation on black bears, Alaska’s Bats, the 2007 Alaska Rare Plant Forum, the 1993 VPOP Report and associated peer review, publications by Joe Cook and by Winston Smith (not together), and Chris Larsen’s homepage with lots of information about his research on recent glacial rebound.

 

24 January 2006: Added link to Alaska DNR area management plans (for state-owned lands and tidelands).  Also, Alaska Amphibian Conference page is being updated every few days (up till the conference occurs).

 

12 January 2006: Added link to Bob Christensen’s site, which includes many of his reports.  Added two articles by DeGayner, Doerr and others (habitat ecology of black bears and deer), several ADFG publications on goshawk, black bear and deer, and all the USFS Tongass-related publications from the special issue of Landscape and Urban Planning.  Linked to new sites created for the Tongass conservation strategy review (which will ultimately contain many references) and the Forest Plan adjustment/update (scheduled to be completed in 2007).  Linked to 11th Alaska Bird Conference.  Also, added a section on the links page for links to past conferences held in or about Southeast Alaska.

 

22 Nov 2005: Added links to 2nd Alaska Amphibian Conference, and the Alaska Woodfrog Monitoring Project on the main page. Also, a few new pdfs on the Links and Documents page, and linked to the ADFG Anadromous Waters Catalogue (freshwater anadromous fish distributions).  Fixed broken links to BC Coastal Plans, and deleted a few others that seem to be gone for good.

 

07 Feb 2005: Added links to Lily Peacock’s dissertation and a Juneau Empire story about her work.
